MDC Lady Sharks ready to take on new season

The Shark Nation Women’s Basketball Team is coming off a tremendous season, winning the Southern Conference Championship and making the programs 24th historical trip to the 2018 FCSAA State Regional Championships with record of 22-8 and 11-1 in Conference play.

This team's also ranked Top 6 in the State and ranked nationally in many categories. Although the Sharks thats graduated All American and Player of the Year,Cheah Rael-Whitsitt who signed with ESPN Top 25 D1 Texas A & M, Savannah Clark,another WBCA All American who sign with D1 Univ of Rhode Island and Michelle Wright ranked no.3 in the nation in 3pt percentage.

The Sharks have reloaded with more athletic experienced players. We return eight players from the Championship team.Three are All Southern Conference and One WBCA All American who led Florida in scoring 21.0 as freshman Ganette Chism, followed by 6’3 Diedra Harris who ranked no.4 in rebounding in the state.

Shay Harper who also led the conference with hot shooting from behind the arc to be named All Southern Conference.The new addition of 6’0 Michelle Pruit,D1 transfer from Stetson,a six time Atlantic Sun Player of the Week. To round off with high School State Champion 6’0 Toi Smith who will see a lot action led Lakewood High School to the Championship. Concluding with freshmen 5’11 talented Monique Pruitt who can play multiple positions and 5’9 athletic combo guard and Chicago top 40 player Daliyah Brown who play multiple positions.
