Women's Basketball Gets a Jump Start  on 2017 Early Signees

Taking advantage of the new date of when a coach can sign a player (Novemeber). Head Coach Susan Summons has already signed four players for the 2017-18 season. For the exception of two players Summons has been in Florida's backyard the past couple of months finiding hidden talent in the Sunshine State. So far, the Lady Sharks coaching staff has signed the following players:

 

Samantha Douglas - 6'2 1/2 - F/C - Lakewood High school - St. Petersburg, FL

  • Lead team to the 2017 FHSAA Class 6A Girls Basketball State Championship
  • Averaged 12ppg, 10rpg, 2bpg
  • Made school's National Honor Society 

 

Zariyah "Zee" Daniels - 5'7 - G - Lakewood High school - St. Petersburg, FL

  • Lead team to the 2017 FHSAA Class 6A Girls Basketball State Championship
  • Averaged 17ppg and  8apg
  • Honor Roll Student

 

Jealissa Presswood5'9 - G- Phillips Academy High School- Chicago, IL

  • 18ppg , 11rpg, 8apg
  • Chicago Public School First All Conference Team
  • All City Team

 

Natasha Polanco - 5'6 - G - Felix Varela High School - Miami, FL

  • 15ppg and 7apg
  • Rookie of the Year Award
  • 3 time MVP  Braddock Tournament
  • 4th Leading Scorer in Varela HIstory
  • All Dade Team

 

Deidra Harris - 6'2 1/2- F/C - Columbia High School - Decatur, GA

  • Led team to the semifinals of the 2017 GHSA Girls State Basketball Tournament
  • 12.3ppg, 8.3rpg, 2.5bpg
  • Team MVP
