Sharks defeated by Northwest Florida
The Miami Dade Sharks faced a tough road challenge against Northwest Florida State College, falling 96-62 on Friday night. Despite a strong effort, the Sharks were unable to match the Raiders' balanced offense and physical presence on the glass.
Miami Dade was led by Faheim Saintleger Meran, who delivered a standout performance with a game-high 21 points, shooting 7-of-17 from the field and connecting on three 3-pointers. Off the bench, Jordan Cooke provided a much-needed offensive spark, hitting four 3-pointers en route to 12 points in just 12 minutes of play. Starting guard Jamaal Morris contributed 10 points and a team-high five assists, but the Sharks could not find any offensive consistency.
The Sharks' defensive and rebounding challenges were evident, as Northwest Florida State outrebounded Miami Dade 38-13 and shot an impressive 58.2% from the field. Despite the Sharks' best efforts, the Raiders' depth and efficiency proved to be the difference.
The Raiders showcased a balanced scoring attack, with six players scoring at least nine points. Josh Hayes led the way for Northwest Florida State with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while Davion Hill added 12 points and five rebounds off the bench.
The Sharks will look to bounce back when they take on Pensacola State.
