Miami, FL-Several players on the Miami Dade College Men's Basketball Team were acknowledged by the FCSAA for their play on the court during the 2016-17 season. The players received All-Southern Conference First and Second Team Honors. 

Leading the team in points, sophomore Darnell Dunn was named to the All-Southern Conference First Team. Freshmen Elijah Hill and Shawn Chandler made a name for themselves by being named to the All-Southern Conference Second Team.

The Sharks overall record for the 2016-17 season was 10-19 and 4-11 in conference play. MDC finished fifth in conference.
