Former MDC Men's Basketball Head Coach Cesar Odio Passed Away

After a nine-year battle with Leukemia, MDC's winningest Men's Basketball Head Coach, Cesar Odio passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the age of 58.

Miami Dade College would like to thank Coach Odio for his seven years of service as the Sharks head coach. During his tenure with MDC (Kendall Campus), Odio put together a 128-85 school record.

After Miami Dade, Odio became the head coach for Barry University, where he spent the next 17 years. While there, he also became the most winningest men's basketball head coach in their school history—with a 266-218 record. 

In 2013, Odio became the Assistant Director of Athletics for BU. 

"Odio is survived by his wife, Mary Kay, and their children, Emily and Eddie" (Miami Herald/Walter Villa).
