Sharks take 2 out of 3 against FSW

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team defeated the Florida Southwestern Buccaneers 7-5 to take the series and knock the Sharks out of first place in the Citrus Conference. The Sharks are now 26-22 on the year while the Bucs move to 32-18.

The Sharks handed the Bucs a big blow in the fourth inning when Thomas White homered to deep left field to give the Sharks a 3-0 lead.

Florida Southwestern was able to answer back thanks to a double by Logan O'Donnell but Maikol Perez and D'Angelo Ortiz would drive in runs for Miami Dade in the next half inning to increase the lead to 5-1.

The Sharks were able to stave off the comeback attempt from the Bucs to hold on to victory late in Fort Myers, allowing the Sharks to take the series from the #12 ranked team in the NJCAA.

Miami Dade will now turn their heads to Tuesday, April 23rd when they take on United Internaional College at home. The game is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
