Sharks outmatched by the Pioneers

The Miami Dade Sharks were defeated by the Indian River State College Pioneers 13-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Sharks fall to 23-20 on the year.

The Pioneers got out to an early start in the ball game after Anthony Hunerberg singled in the second, driving in a run. They then extended their lead in the top of the third inning after two RBI singles by Daniel Baez and Matthew Rubin.

Indian River was able to blow the game wide open after an 8 run seventh inning that made things 13-0 in Kendall.

Miami Dade scratched a run in the bottom of the seventh inning after Maikol Perez reached on an error, allowing Wilder Puertas to score, avoiding the shutout. 

The Sharks will look to bounce back this Saturday when they take on Pioneers in a doubleheader. The games are scheduled for 1 PM and 4 PM.
