Hawks avoid the sweep after defeating the Sharks

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team lost the third game of the three game set against the Hillsborough Hawks 6-2 on Saturday afternoon. Miami Dade now moves to 20-18 on the year.

The Hawks were able to get off to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first following 2 errors by the Sharks. A single by Bennett Weinard extended the lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, The Sharks were able to put two on the board following a hard hit ball by Wilder Puertas and a walk by Dean Guzman

Hillsborough was then able to add some insurance runs in the top of the eighth and the top of the ninth to put the game out of reach for Miami Dade.

Left Hander Kerry Brown took the loss for Miami Dade in this ballgame, going five innings, surrendering four runs on eight hits and striking out three.

Miami Dade will look to bounce back on Thursday when they travel up to Daytona State College. The game is slated for 3 PM.
