Sharks win Game 2 of 3 game set against the Hawks

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team defeated the Hillsborough Hawks 6-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks move to 20-17 on the year with the victory. 

The Hawks got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Juan Miguel Fernandez walked Opie, allowing the Hawks to go up 1-0. Fernandez was able to settle down for the rest of the ballgame as he went seven innings, giving up four hits and striking out 10.

The Sharks offense scored two in the first inning thanks to D'Angelo Ortiz and Geremy Garcia, who each drove a run in. Miami Dade was then able to add another run in the second inning after David Zamora grounded out, bringing a run in.

Garcia then extended the lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third inning after a single through the left side brought in Michael Petite. In the fifth inning, Petite sent a ball over the left field wall to make the score 6-1, giving Miami Dade two more insurance runs heading into the seventh inning.

Juan Miguel Fernandez was able to complete his seven inning complete game to give the Sharks the win in this one. The Sharks will look to complete the series sweep when they take on the Hawks at 5 PM.
