Miami Dade pushes in the late innings to defeat the Manatees

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team took down the State College of Florida Manatees 9-7 on Monday night. The Sharks move to 18-16 with the win. 

The Sharks took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning after Maikol Perez homered to left and Carlos Jacome drove in a run with a double. Miami Dade would add to their lead thanks to hits by Geremy Garcia and Jacome. 

The Manatees would tie the game at 4 after Allan Gil- Fernandez tagged up from third. Pip Smalley then singled to give the State College of Florida a 6-4 lead in the top of the sixth. 

Miami Dade was able to score five runs on three hits in the bottom of the eight to flip the score making it 9-7 in favor of the Sharks. 

Juan Miguel Fernandez was able to come in and shut the door tossing two shutout innings, striking out four, walking none and earning the win.

Miami Dade will look to stay in the win column when they take on Atlantis College this Tuesday. The game is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
