The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team defeated the St. Petersburg Titans 15-13 in a high scoring affair Saturday afternoon. The Sharks are now 17-16 on the year.
Miami Dade got on the board in the first inning thanks to a couple of hard hits from Geremy Garcia and Thomas White. Michael Petite would tally three more runs in the second inning after a deep shot to right field, making the score 6-0. The Sharks would then add 3 more to make it 9-0 early in the ballgame.
The Titans would bounce back making it 9-6 in the bottom of the second inning and would add another in the fifth to cut the lead to 2.
St. Petersburg would eventually tie the ballgame at 9 apiece in the bottom of the sixth.
Miami Dade would then surrender their 9 run lead in the seventh allowing the Titans to score 4 more, making it 13-9 in favor of St. Pete.
The Sharks were able to wake up in the last 2 innings scoring 6 to pull away the victory.
Miami Dade will look to stay hot when they take on State College of Florida, Monday afternoon. The game is slated for 4 PM.
