Big game from Jacome propels the Sharks to series sweep

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team swept the series against the State College of Florida Manatees with a 10-7 win on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks move to 15-14 on the year.

The Sharks got off to a hot start in the first thanks to Carlos Jacome, who swatted a grand slam to left field, making the score 4-0 off the rip. Miami Dade's offense was firing on all cylinders today as they plated four more runs in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 8-3. This inning featured an RBI single from Thomas White and a three run homer from Kerry Brown. Michael Petite added to the fun in the top of the sixth with a solo shot of his own.

Luis Rodriguez earned the win for Miami Dade in this one as he pitched three innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out three Manatees.

Miami Dade will look to continue the win streak as they take on United International College at home Tuesday evening. The game is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
