The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team won a tight contest against Elite Squad Academy 6-5. The Sharks move up to a 9-8 record.

Miami Dade got on the board in the bottom of the first after Dean Guzman and Santiago Carriles each drove in one run. The Sharks would continue to pile on taking a 5-1 lead after 2 innings of play. 

In the 3rd inning, the Sharks would take advantage of a wild pitch by adding a run to extend their lead to 5.

Esidis, the first baseman for the Elite Squad would hit a three run shot in the top of the fourth for the Elite Squad to bring them slightly closer but the Sharks relievers would shut the door from here on out.

Luis Rodriguez toed the slab in today's matchup giving up four hits and three runs over three and a third. He would strike out 6 and walk one. Robert Lastra would get the win, tossing 2 shutout innings of baseball and striking out 3.

Miami Dade will head up north to start a three game set against Seminole State College of Florida. The first game is slated for 2:00 PM.
