Big day at the plate for Geremy Garcia leads the Sharks past Atlantis

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team would protect the home field against Atlantis University in a game which showed how prolific the Sharks offense could be. The Sharks move to 7-6 with the victory.

The Sharks offense took off today in the 5th inning where they scored 10 of their 15 runs. Santiago Carriles was able to drive in a run, followed by a 2 RBI triple from Carlos Jacome. A Zamora single brought another in. D'Angelo Ortiz was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to and Rodriguez was walked right after, which drove in another. To put the cherry on top, Sharks catcher Geremy Garcia hit a grand slam to left field to cap off the huge inning for the Sharks. 

Julian Carrasquilla got the start for the Sharks tossing 3 solid innings, just allowing three hits and striking out one. Pazos would come in and toss 1.1 innings of scoreless ball. Ramallo would earn then win in this one by throwing 1 and two thirds innings while striking out 3.

The Sharks look to stay hot when they play conference opponent College of Central Florida on Thursday. The game is scheduled for 3 pm on February 15th.
