Miami Dade gets shutout by Pearl River

Pearl River Community College defeated Miami Dade 14-0 on Sunday thanks in part to an eight-run outburst in the fifth inning.

 

The Wildcats opened the scoring in the third inning after an error scored one run.

 

Pearl River scored eight runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Logan Terry drew a walk, scoring a run, Jeffrey Ince homered to center field, scoring three. Marshall Phillips, Caston Thompson and Bryce Fowler also added to the fun in this inning.

 

In the next inning, the Wildcats scored five runs on 2 hits. JP Robertson drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Keegan Giger singled, driving in two.

 

J.T. Schnoor earned the win for the Wildcats in today's matchup striking out 7 over five innings. He would only allow 1 hit in this outing. Kerry Brown would take the loss for Miami Dade. The lefty went four and a third surrendering one run and striking out five.

 

Miami Dade will look to bounce back when they take on Elite Squad Academy on Tuesday February 6. The game is slated for 6:30 PM.
