Miami Dade Baseball Falls to Chipola 4-1

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team fell at the hands of Chipola 4-1, Friday Night. The Sharks fall to 2-2 on the season.

 

Chipola opened the scoring in this one after Buchan singled and drove in a run. D'Angelo Ortiz responded with his own RBI single in the top of the sixth inning to tie it up for the Sharks.

 

Chipola would answer back in the bottom of the sixth thanks to singles by Gordon and Hugas.

 

Brown earned the win for Chipola while surrendering 3 hits and one run over 2 innings. Brandon Vasquez took the loss in this one for Miami Dade. He would toss 1 inning, giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits, while striking out one. Juan Miguel Fernandez would get the start in this one going 4 innings, striking out 5 and walking 4.

 

Maikol Perez led the Sharks offense going 2 for 3 from the leadoff spot. D'Angelo Ortiz was able to knock in the Sharks only run in this one.

 

The Sharks will look to get back in the win column when they take on Chattahoochee Valley Community College on Saturday February 3.
