MIAMI, May. 18, 2016- MDC Baseball's Santiago Espinal was named First Team All-State, and All-Region. The shortstop who is considered to be a MLB prospect is now up for nomination as a NJCAA All-American. This season Espinal received First Team All-Southern Conference Honors, and was named the 2016 Southern Conference Player of the Year. He finished the season with 28 runners-batted-in, 38 runs, 15 stolen bases, a batting average of .432, and a slugging percentage of .562.
