MDC Baseball Players Awarded for their Performance with Conference Honors

Under the coaching of Head Coach Danny Price, and Assistant Coaches Kevin Long, Jim Mansilla, Victor Gomez, and Tommy Duenas the Miami Dade College Baseball team finished their regular season 27-19, and 16-12 in conference play. The Sharks finished the season ranked third in the Southern Conference, and is now preparing to play the College of Central Florida Patriots in a head-to-head playoff game to qualify for the FCSAA State Tournament.

 

Alongside finishing the season above .500 both overall, and in conference several Sharks on the roster received All-Southern Conference honors. Receiving 2016 All-Southern Conference First Team Honors was sophomores Chris Bec, Andrew George, Nelson Mompierre, and freshman Santiago Espinal. Sophomore Kevin Williams, and freshmen Kevin Santiago, Jackie Urbaez, and Danny Mondejar also received 2016 All-Southern Conference Second Team Honors.

 

In addition to receiving first team honors freshman Santiago Espinal was named the 2016 Southern Conference Player of the Year.
